Inspiring Young Minds Through Literature: Book Review Event at PSSEMR School Davangere

On November 8, 2024, PSSEMR School Davangere – IGCSE CAIE organized a Book Review event for students in grades VI to X. The goal was to inspire a love for reading while also helping students build essential skills in critical thinking, public speaking, and literary analysis. By exploring diverse literary works, students broadened their understanding of various genres, themes, and writing styles, enriching their perspectives on storytelling.

Cultivating a Love for Reading

The Book Review event was designed to motivate students to dive into new books, opening doors to worlds of different characters, plots, and themes. Through this exploration, students gained exposure to various literary styles, encouraging them to develop a lifelong love for reading. PSSEMR School Davangere recognizes that reading fosters imagination and empathy, as it allows students to experience life from different perspectives.

By reviewing these works, students were able to connect with different aspects of literature, deepening their comprehension skills and understanding of complex ideas. This experience made them more engaged readers, helping them discover personal interests within literature.

Enhancing Critical Thinking and Expression

One of the main objectives of the event was to strengthen students’ critical thinking abilities.
