REPORT ON INTER-HOUSE POETRY RECITATION COMPETITION

INTRODUCTION

The Inter-House Poetry Recitation Competition for CAIE students of Classes I–V was successfully organized on 01 August 2026 (Saturday) as part of the Inter-House Activities Programme for the academic year 2026–27. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from the four prestigious houses—Tagore House, Vinobha House, Gandhi House, and Raman House.

The event provided an excellent platform for young learners to express their creativity, confidence, and appreciation for literature through the art of poetry. Students recited poems with remarkable enthusiasm, demonstrating effective voice modulation, rhythm, expression, pronunciation, and stage presence. The competition inspired students to develop communication skills, self-confidence, and a love for language while encouraging healthy inter-house competition.

OBJECTIVES

The Inter-House Poetry Recitation Competition was organized to:

• Encourage students to appreciate poetry and literature.

• Develop confidence and public speaking skills.

• Improve pronunciation, voice modulation, and expression.

• Enhance stage presence and communication skills.

• Foster creativity, imagination, and language proficiency.

• Promote healthy inter-house competition and teamwork.

COMPETITION OVERVIEW

The competition witnessed active participation from students representing:

• Tagore House

• Vinobha House

• Gandhi House

• Raman House

Students from Classes I–V presented poems with confidence and enthusiasm. Their performances were evaluated on the basis of:

• Melody (3 Marks)

• Rhythm (2 Marks)

• Expression (3 Marks)

• Stage Presence (2 Marks)

The participants impressed the judges with their expressive delivery, confidence, and presentation skills, making the competition enjoyable and inspiring.

Riyanshi Sajja of Class V, representing Tagore House, delivered an outstanding recitation with excellent melody, rhythm, expression, and stage presence to secure the First Place.

The event reflected the school's commitment to nurturing holistic development through meaningful co-curricular activities.

Riyanshi Sajja of Tagore House emerged as the deserving champion with an exceptional performance marked by expressive recitation, excellent voice modulation, and confident stage presence. Sharvi of Vinobha House secured the runner-up position through an impressive display of rhythm and expression, while Prateeksha K. B. of Tagore House earned third place with a confident and engaging performance. Subhashree of Gandhi House and Vira of Tagor also participated enthusiastically and contributed to the success of the competition through her commendable effort and positive spirit.

The school extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the participants and expresses sincere gratitude to the Principal, judges, teachers, House Masters, coordinators, and volunteers for their valuable support in organizing the competition successfully.

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony where the winners were felicitated amidst applause and appreciation. The competition celebrated not only excellence in poetry recitation but also the enduring values of confidence, creativity, communication, expression, and appreciation for literature, making it a memorable addition to the Inter-House Activities Calendar 2026–27.
